On 8 December 2023, a delegation of the Fergana State University visited the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged. The delegation from the Polytechnic Institute of Fergana State University discussed with the ArchEnerg Cluster and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged the results and experiences of the long-standing cooperation. The meeting was a very fruitful one, where the parties signed a cooperation agreement and the founding charter of a joint innovative cluster was negotiated with the participation of the Faculty of Engineering.
The guests were welcomed at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged by representatives of the ArchEnerg Cluster and Prof. Dr. István Bíró, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged.
The Fergana State University, located in the eastern part of Uzbekistan, was founded in 1930 and gained university status in 1991. It has 13 faculties, including engineering, medicine, law, economics and humanities. The ArchEnerg Cluster and the Polytechnic Institute of the Faculty of Engineering at Fergana State University have been working together for several years. One of the main goals of this cooperation is to implement an innovative project of a unique nature, which has never existed before, such as the creation of the first Uzbek cluster. The Uzbek Republic has declared the implementation of scientific and innovative solutions an urgent and priority task. The role of the ArchEnerg Cluster is therefore invaluable, as it plays a key role in both implementation and execution.
The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged, which has also been a long-standing partner of the ArchEnerg Cluster. The purpose of the delegation's visit was to summarise the past years, the results and experiences of the cooperation, to interpret the scientific and innovative solutions in the context of global trends, and to anchor them in a cooperation agreement to achieve future goals.
- We take part in several international events every year, such as Innoweek, where on 20 October Uzbekistan set out its vision for a prosperous new future. Preserving nature, and keeping water, air, and the environment clean should become a culture and a practical activity for all residents in the coming years. The cooperation agreement between the Institute of Polytechnology of Fergana State University and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged will help to achieve these goals," said András Gonda, CEO of ArchEnerg Cluster.
The four-member Uzbek delegation from Fergana then held a professional discussion with the ArchEnerg Cluster and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged on the establishment of the Green Energy Construction Cluster, which aims to contribute to the innovative goals of the cooperation on the international stage. This will also strengthen the cooperation already established by Dr. Dénes Bulkai and Dr Uktam Salomov.
András Gonda, CEO of the ArchEnerg Cluster, said that the ArchEnerg Cluster aims to help the University of Szeged and the Polytechnic Institute of Fergana State University to pursue modern knowledge in line with the requirements of the labor market and to assist in accessing common resources and opportunities, all in a well-organized process environment.
