On March 15, 2023, the ArchEnerg-Metal Cluster, in close partnership with the Precarpathian Eco-Energy Cluster, commemorated the events of the 1848/49 revolution and war of independence in Ivano-Frankivsk. As part of the commemoration, the cluster laid a wreath at the Petőfi Sándor memorial in the city. Due to the escalating war conflict, personal wreath-laying was not possible this year, but the ArchEnerg-Metal Cluster pays its respects virtually.

The March 15 commemoration not only focuses on the Hungarian war of independence but also honors the victims of the war in Ukraine, expressing the solidarity of the Hungarian people with the suffering Ukrainian population.

Ivano-Frankivsk took the name of Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko in 1962, on the 300th anniversary of its founding. Ivano-Frankivsk is a significant economic and cultural center in Western Ukraine. The city's leading sector is industry, which accounts for 15% of total employment. More than 500 industrial enterprises, including 50 large companies, operate in the city. Additionally, there are numerous institutions of higher education.

Franko and Petőfi are both known for their revolutionary poetry, which is why Lezsák Sándor, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, donated a bust to the city. The bronze memorial was created by Munkácsy Prize-winning sculptor Sándor Kligl from Szeged and was unveiled on July 31, 2017, the 168th anniversary of Petőfi Sándor's death, on the busy promenade of Shevchenko Park.

When we see a dove on March 15, let us think of Ivano-Frankivsk and the desired peace. With the compilation about the peace dove, the ArchEnerg-Metal Cluster wishes for worldwide peace!
