We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the RENOINVEST Consortium’s first international roundtable meeting, held on April 18th, 2024, at the Megra Fair in Slovenia.
The RENOINVEST project aims to bridge the gap between actions and policy in sustainable finance for building renovations. By engaging key stakeholders, including financial experts, building sector professionals, and policymakers from Hungary, Slovenia, and Austria, the roundtable addressed the critical challenges and solutions for sustainable building renovation and the green transition.
This landmark event focused on the “one-stop-shop” approach, fostering collaboration and dialogue to advance sustainable practices in energy transition and finance across the EU.
The International Renoinvest Roundtable meeting served as a platform for comprehensive discussions on innovative approaches to green financing and the "one-stop shop" approach , aimed at streamlining processes and maximizing efficiency in renovation projects. Participants delved into strategies to overcome barriers and harness opportunities in sustainable renovation, emphasizing the pivotal role of collaboration and knowledge exchange in driving meaningful progress towards environmental sustainability.
Key highlights from the event included:
Ms. Lili Béres, representing lead partner ÉMI Non-profit Ltd., emphasized the importance of achieving EU’s 2050 targets by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 60% and renovating 3% of residential buildings annually.
Mr. Ivan Kenda (Slovenia, Eco Fund) introduced RENOV-AID, a project aimed at enhancing Slovenia's one-stop-shop for building renovation support, providing expert advice and financial aid to local communities.
Mr. Gyula Nagy (Hungary, MBH Mortgage Bank) shared insights into energy-efficient mortgages (EEM) and their role in financing sustainable building renovations.
Ms. Ulla Unzeitig (Austria, Renowave.at) highlighted the success of the RENOBOOSTER Project in Austria, which offers a comprehensive one-stop-shop platform to assist homeowners with renovation and energy-saving measures.
The event also featured an engaging roundtable discussion, exploring the vital role of One-Stop Shops (OSS) in promoting energy-efficient investments, educating homeowners, and addressing key market challenges, such as funding gaps and regulatory inefficiencies.
This successful roundtable marks a significant step forward in RENOINVEST's mission to accelerate sustainable building renovations and achieve Zero Emissions by 2050.
