Second International Roundtable on Energy-Efficient Renovation
Following the success of the first international roundtable and study tour of the Renoinvest project in April 2024 in Slovenia, we are pleased to announce the second international roundtable, set to take place on March 31, 2025, in Szentendre, Hungary.
Focus of the Event Building upon the discussions from the first event, which explored one-stop-shop solutions for sustainable renovation, this second roundtable will concentrate on the implementation plans for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Additionally, it will facilitate an exchange of best practices for leveraging private financing in building renovations.
With the EU aiming to significantly increase the energy renovation rate—at least doubling it by 2030—mobilizing private investment has become a critical factor. Deep renovations require substantial financial resources, making the engagement of private capital essential to scaling up energy-efficient transformations. Staged renovation strategies will also be key to achieving these ambitious targets.
Key Topics and Participants The roundtable will bring together representatives from the building industry, policymakers, and financial experts from Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia. Participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities of financing and implementing large-scale renovations, sharing insights and strategies to overcome barriers. The event seeks to encourage cross-border collaboration, promote innovative financial solutions, and foster partnerships that drive sustainable renovation efforts forward.
